We are thrilled to launch our eight interview in our 'Real Review of BabyDink' blog series.
We absolutely love to see our community embracing babywearing and enjoying the maximum bonding benefits.
We created this series with the intention of providing real-life babywearing experiences - shared by YOU our community!
Each month, we will be asking a parent or caregiver that has used the BabyDink No-Wrap Wrap Carrier, asking a series of questions centred around babywearing.
By sharing common experiences, shedding light on the joys and benefits of babywearing from those who have actually embraced it, we hope that the answers shared may help to answer the questions of prospective parents.
It offers a glimpse into the simple, daily moments where babywearing with a BabyDink carrier can help to make that a little bit easier.
Celebrating life with a newborn and the joy of parenthood, and sharing a few 'babywearing hacks' along the way.
This week we hear from Kara, mother of three who lives in Bayside Melbourne with her husband and daughters 5, 3 and 8 weeks old. They live super close to the beach and they love being so close to the water.
Kara shares her thoughts on BabyDink.
Can you tell us what you knew about babywearing before the arrival of bub?
Being my 3rd pregnancy, I had known about using a carrier for a while. The ones that I had were useful, especially with my second, as I had to entertain a 2 year old at the time. I remember it was helpful using a carrier, especially when bubs didn't want to sleep long stints in the cot or pram but the other carriers I had tried did make my back sore after using them for a few months.
Having two other children, I needed to ensure bubs could sleep, as well as take my other two daughters out and about to the park, kinder, swimming and hanging out with friends. Babywearing just makes it easier to cart everyone around, and I would have my hands free.
I also love that Dad can use it too. It's so nice that he can have the same bonding time with our daughter as I have.
Having had a few carriers already and knowing what they were like and how time consuming some could be in getting baby set in the carrier - that was prior to knowing about BabyDink.
The usability of getting it on and getting baby in in the carrier has been the best thing. With other children to get ready for things and to take to activities, having a carrier that is easy to put on and holds bubs in the correct way is fantastic.
What was the most important consideration for you when choosing your baby carrier?
How easy it is to use and get baby settled so quickly. And how comfortable and supportive it is for my back.
Being able to ensure bubs gets sleep when out and about. I can also do household things, like prepare food for the other kids throughout the day. I love that I can relax and sit down with baby in the carrier and have a coffee and chill, while bubs stays asleep.
What’s your favourite thing about BabyDink?
It's comfortable, easy to use and looks good. The phone pocket is also a bonus as you don't have to carry a bag when you're out.
Both my partner and I use it every day. Often 2-3 times depending on how the day is going.
What are the moments or daily tasks that are made easier when wearing BabyDink?
Getting bubs to sleep multiple times per day for a decent sleep. Kinder drop off and swimming lessons. I can take bubs and watch my daughter without bubs being unsettled and help to change her afterwards.
Getting food organised and interact with them more easily, having my hands free.
She sleeps for longer than the cot or pram sometimes. She feels comfortable whilst in the BabyDink cuddled up with me on my chest, which is such a nice feeling. She is calm and settled.
Would you recommend BabyDink to a friend?
100% - I would recommend BabyDink to friends - it's the BEST thing!
And of course, we have to ask what colour did you choose?
Although I love the Rose, as I have lots of clothes that colour, I chose Slate and I love it and it really compliments my wardrobe.
